

Gerda Cristelo founded Arende Ringball Club in 2004 in Birchleigh, starting with just two women's teams and 18 members.
By 2006, the club had expanded to three teams, with a total of 36 members.
Leadership Milestones:
Gerda Cristelo served as chairman from 2004 to 2007.
Brenda Kruger took over as chairman from 2007 to 2009. During this time, the club maintained a membership of 36.
Elize Botha led the club as chairman from 2009 to 2022, overseeing significant growth to five teams, five coaches, and 50+ members.
Key Developments:
In 2011, we moved our training facilities to Birchleigh High School, which enabled us to further engage with the community and provide local students an opportunity to learn about Ringball.
In 2015, the club underwent a name change, becoming Ukhozi Arende Ringball Club.
Notable Achievements:
2016: This was a standout year for Ukhozi Ringball Club. With five teams competing, we reached the semi-finals and finals, bringing home five medals:
Gold: Men's B
Silver: Men's A, Ladies B, and Ladies C
Bronze: Ladies A
2022: The club expanded to 12 teams. The Men's A team won gold and competed in the Club Championships.
2024: Ukhozi had four teams in the finals, where we earned the following medals:
Gold: Men's B, Ladies C1, and Under 13 Mix A
Silver: Ladies A, additionally, the team participated in the Club Championships, winning another silver medal.
We are incredibly proud of all our teams and their accomplishments, and we look forward to continuing our growth in the years ahead.
